Abel Manumbu is the Founder and Managing Director of UR Energy Limited (UR Xenergi Limited Tanzania), a power project developer and financing mobilization firm based in Malawi and Tanzania with operations across East and Southern Africa. He specializes in developing bankable power infrastructure and structuring the commercial and financing frameworks needed to support regional energy trade and interconnected markets. UR portfolio includes the AZA Power 75 MW gas-to-power plant in Malawi, underpinned by a signed 25-year Power Purchase Agreement, and the Kanawa Kishapu 65 MW Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System project in Tanzania, developed under an MoU with TANESCO. UR is currently advancing LNG supply structuring along the Nacala Corridor to enable competitively priced, reliable base-load power for critical mineral processing, including captive power solutions for major mining developments in the region.
