Adetola is an international disputes attorney, and an Associate at Stephenson Harwood LLP in London. He regularly acts as counsel in high-stakes international arbitration with a specific focus on Africa. He also advises clients on arbitration related litigation, including enforcement and set aside proceedings before national courts.

With a background in energy, finance and projects, Adetola's experience stems from an understanding of the transactions that underpin disputes. He has practiced in the disputes’ practices of top tier commercial law firms in Nigeria, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom for over a decade. He holds a masters from the prestigious Geneva LLM in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) and regularly represents corporates, multi-nationals and governments in high profile commercial and investment disputes.

Highlights of his representative work include acting for an international energy company in a JOA dispute involving the validity of cash calls and related obligations in a high value ICC arbitration and advising the National energy company of an African State on sovereign immunity claims relating to the enforcement of a circa US$11 Billion arbitral award.

He is currently representing a large African conglomerate in an arbitration arising from delay related claims of approximately US$300 million concerning the construction of a major oil and gas facility before the London Court of International Arbitration.
