Emily Watt is Founder and CEO of Pontiva, a London-based boutique advisory firm working with ambitious Africa-focused energy businesses at critical inflection points — ahead of a major capital raise, M&A process, or a step-change in scale. Pontiva provides advisory services across three key areas: advising on institutional and capital readiness; creating capital markets solutions; and enhancing and optimising trading capabilities.
 

Emily brings nearly two decades of experience across energy and financial markets at bp, Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. She most recently led bp's Europe & Africa oil and biofuels supply, trading and shipping business; overseeing a $1bn+ commercial and operational portfolio. With deep expertise in energy trading, deal origination, investment governance, capital raising, and geopolitical risk management, Emily has extensive in country experience building trusted partnerships and scaling businesses across Ghana, Nigeria, Angola and South Africa.
