Géraud Moussarie is Managing Director of Sustainable Partnerships Ltd and Chairman of CMR plc. A former BP and Rio executive, he has led energy businesses and major project negotiations across North and West Africa. As BP’s Commercial Director for North Africa from 2012 to 2017, Géraud served on the boards of the In Amenas and In Salah joint ventures in Algeria, which together represented approximately 20% of the country’s gas production at the time. He negotiated with partners and Algerian authorities on investment programmes, commercial issues and licence strategy. He also spent a year in Libya establishing BP’s local finance operations, managed BP’s Libyan and Moroccan licence portfolios, with some exposure to BP deals in Egypt. From 2017 to 2021, Géraud was General Manager of BP Senegal. He established its Dakar office and was part of the team that brought the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim gas project to final investment decision, working across commercial negotiations, government relations and local content. Today, through Sustainable Partnerships, he works with investors and project developers across North and Atlantic Africa. He brings to the panel a practical perspective on developing North Africa’s oil and gas resources, grounded in experience with operators, governments and joint venture partners.
