H.E. Stev Simplice Onanga

His excellency Stev Simplice Onanga is a Congolese petroleum engineer and government official currently serving as Minister of Hydrocarbons of the Republic of the Congo since April 2026. He is regarded as a seasoned technocrat with more than two decades of experience in the country’s oil and gas sector.
Onanga holds a degree in Applied Mathematics obtained in France and later earned a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa in 2004. His international academic background helped shape his technical expertise in upstream petroleum operations and reservoir engineering
