MD & Country Chair, Mozambique TotalEnergies E&P

Jean-Pascal CLÉMENÇON currently serves as Country Chair and Managing Director of TotalEnergies Exploration and Production in Mozambique.He began his career in 1995 with Perenco in Gabon, later joining Shell in Scotland in 1997 as a Petroleum Engineer. In 2002, Jean-Pascal moved to TotalEnergies, where he has held a variety of business and leadership roles within Exploration & Production. His assignments have taken him to Paris, Dubai, Congo-Brazzaville, Cairo, and Algiers, where he acted as Algeria Country Chair and Managing Director of TotalEnergies E&P Algeria until 2021. Drawing on his extensive oil and gas experience, Jean-Pascal then moved back to the head office to support TotalEnergies’ transition and the company’s multi-energy strategy as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Markets. In 2026, he has been appointed Country Chair and MD of TotalEnergies E&P in Mozambique following the restart of the Mozambique LNG project.

Jean-Pascal holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Chemical School of Nancy, a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the IFP School Paris and a Master of Business Administration from HEC Paris.
