John Giordano was confirmed by the United States Senate as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic  of Namibia on October 7, 2025. He presented his credentials to President Netumbo Nandi  Ndaitwah on October 29, 2025.  

Ambassador Giordano most recently served as the interim U.S. Attorney for the District of New  Jersey, having been sworn in on March 3, 2025. As U.S. Attorney, he oversaw all federal  criminal prosecutions and civil litigation involving federal interests in the State. During his tenure, he aggressively targeted violent gang activity, human trafficking networks, illegal  immigration, and cartel drug trafficking operations  

Ambassador Giordano possesses a depth of high-level experience from both the private and  public sectors, including extensive work on energy related economic activities; international  wildlife trafficking; and national security programs. He also has been an active early-stage  investor across emerging consumer, technology, and digital asset sectors, with a focus on  innovative brands and next-generation platforms.  

In addition, Ambassador Giordano has shared his extensive knowledge of federal law as a lecturer  at the University of Pennsylvania’s Law School and at its Department of Earth and Environmental  Science.  

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Villanova University in 1998, Ambassador Giordano earned his  law degree from Villanova University School of Law in 2002. Following law school, he clerked for United States District Judge Joseph E. Irenas in the District of New Jersey before entering  private practice with DLA Piper. 

His charitable and philanthropic efforts have been primarily focused on the arts and nature conservation.
