Ricardo Jorge Pereira de Aguiar Van-Deste is an Angolan geologist with more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. He holds a degree in Geology from Indiana University in the United States and a specialization in Petroleum Engineering from Agostinho Neto University.

He began his career at Sonangol in 1999, where he has held various technical and management positions in exploration, development and reservoir management. Throughout his career, he has worked on projects and assignments with ChevronTexaco in the United States and Angola, as well as with Beicip-Franlab in Paris, gaining extensive experience in seismic interpretation, geological modelling, reservoir evaluation, volumetric analysis and development planning.

 

He has served as Director of Block 3/05A, Director of Studies and Engineering, and Executive Committee Member of Sonangol Exploration & Production. Since March 2019, he has served as Chief Executive Officer of Sonangol Exploration & Production.
