Stanley Opara is the Founder and Executive Director of the African Methane Mitigation and Intelligence Network (AMMIN), where he leads efforts, in collaboration with governments, regulators, operators, and development partners, to advance methane mitigation, capacity development, technology deployment, and investment mobilization across Africa’s oil and gas sector. He currently serves as Technical Adviser to Nigeria’s National Joint Decarbonization Working Group (JDWG) for the oil & gas sector, inaugurated by the Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas) and the Director General of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC). Before founding AMMIN, Stanley held roles at Schlumberger, Deloitte Canada, Suncor Energy Canada, and the methane emissions-monitoring company GHGSat. His experience spans exploration geophysics, management consulting, technology commercialization, carbon markets, and policy analysis across Africa, Europe, and North America. He is also an Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) Climate Leadership Fellow. Stanley holds an MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University, Canada, and a Bachelor of Technology in Geophysics from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria.
