What is the African Energy Week?

The African Energy Week is the African Energy Chamber’s interactive exhibition and networking event that seeks to unite African energy stakeholders, drive industry growth and development, and promote Africa as the destination for African-focused events. The event is committed to African people and African energy with strong encouragement towards a global audience to Cape Town where we will make decisions on the future of the continent’s natural resources and energy sectors.

What will the event entail?

The event comprises high-level discussions, debates, networking opportunities and exhibitions, private meetings, project site visits with governments and stakeholders from the energy and financial sectors and ranging from renewables to oil and gas.

Where will African Energy Week 2022 take place?

African Energy Week 2022 will take place across several venues located in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa.

What is the Energy Village?

The concept of an Energy Village lends a narrative of networking through the sector’s advancements of leapfrogging the energy transition; work towards renewable energy solutions; addressing opportunities and challenges of investment on the continent and creating an enabling environment. Additionally, the Energy Village enables companies to explore sponsorship opportunities with high-level reception options including lunches and cocktail events, as well as panel discussions and a golf tournament. This concept ensures increased exposure for companies, and additionally creates the opportunity for more exclusive sessions, enabling intimate networking opportunities.

Who will be speaking at African Energy Week 2022?

A number of prominent figures have been confirmed for African Energy Week 2022. In 2021 speakers included H.E. Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, H.E. Aissatou Sophie Gladima, H.E. Gabriel Obiang Lima, H.E. Diamantino Azevedo, and more.

What if I cannot attend African Energy Week 2022 in-person, will there be an option to attend virtually?

No, this event is in-person only. However, daily recaps will be available on the website.

What forms of payment are accepted?

All forms of major cards including Mastercard, Visa and American Express. Furthermore, you also have the option to pay via PayPal.

What does a full conference ticket entail?
  • 4 Day conference and exhibition pass

Can I purchase my ticket onsite the day of the event?

Yes you can, come early so you are not disappointed

I only want to attend one day of the conference, is that possible?

Yes this is possible, we have a 1 day ticket you can purchase.

What is the cancellation policy of the event?

All cancellation requests must be received in writing to registration@aecweek.com . The deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 10 days prior to the event. All cancellations must be made in writing and carries a 40% administration fee. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund.

Will I get a refund if I have to cancel my booking?

No show / non-attendance on the day: Refunds will not be made for registrants that are unable to attend an event. All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder. All eligible refunds will be actioned within 30 working days after receiving the refund request.

I am an overseas participant and need a letter of invitation before I can receive my visa. What is the procedure?

What COVID-19 regulations and guidelines will be put in place for the event?

Announced June 23, 2022, South Africa no longer requires visitors to be vaccinated against Covid-19, has lifted rules about gatherings and events, and ends the requirement to wear masks indoors. ALL covid restrictions have been lifted. Even though it’s no longer required, as you are aware, wearing a mask is a simple and effective way to minimize the chance of inadvertently spreading the virus that causes Covid-19 to others and of getting infected yourself.

 

Do I need to wear a mask at all times?

It is mandatory to wear an FFP2 at all times of attendance.
Acceptable face masks are classified as those Filtering Facepiece Respirators KN95 (FFP2/N95 Alternative) masks satisfying European Standard EN 149:2001.
Surgical masks and cloth face masks are not acceptable for this Event.
Please Note:

  • All individuals must bring their own face mask(s), satisfying the criteria above
  • Masks can be purchased at our rapid test centres
  • Individuals without approved face masks may be denied entry, or asked to leave the Event
  • If unable to wear a face mask for valid medical reasons, you may be required to present a certified doctor’s note at any time.
