ADIPEC and AEW 2026 Strengthen Links Between African and Global Energy Markets

ADIPEC, one of the world’s largest energy industry gatherings, is partnering with African Energy Week (AEW) 2026, strengthening links between Africa’s rapidly evolving energy sector and the international companies, investors and technology providers shaping the global industry.

The partnership comes as African countries seek to turn substantial oil and gas resources into greater production, domestic energy supply and economic growth. From new deepwater developments and LNG projects to gas-to-power infrastructure and refining, the continent offers significant opportunities across the energy value chain – but unlocking them will require international capital, technology and expertise.

AEW 2026, taking place in Cape Town from October 12-16, will bring together governments, national oil companies, investors and energy companies from across Africa and beyond. ADIPEC will follow in Abu Dhabi from November 2-5, providing another major meeting point for the global energy community.

The two events offer complementary platforms at a time when the energy industry is becoming increasingly interconnected. Africa remains central to global discussions around energy security and supply diversification, while international markets are looking for new sources of oil and gas alongside technologies capable of supporting lower-carbon and more efficient energy systems.

ADIPEC's scale reflects the breadth of that conversation. Its 2026 edition is expected to attract more than 239,000 attendees and 2,250 exhibiting companies, with more than 380 conference sessions spanning energy, technology, artificial intelligence, digitalization and lower-carbon solutions. The event's strategic program also places a strong emphasis on moving from policy and ambition to investment and production.

That agenda has particular relevance for Africa. The continent has made major advances in developing offshore oil and gas resources, while projects such as Senegal and Mauritania's Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG development, Mozambique LNG, Ivory Coast’s Baleine field and new gas projects in Angola demonstrate the scale of capital and technology required to bring resources to market.

At the same time, African countries are seeking to build more resilient domestic energy systems. Expanding gas infrastructure, increasing electricity generation and developing local industrial capacity will require partnerships extending well beyond the traditional upstream sector.
