AEW 2026 Expands Service Company Speaker Lineup with Kenyon, NOV, Energia and GeoEnergy

African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 will feature a strong lineup of speakers from some of the world’s premier energy service and technology companies. The lineup – which includes representatives from Kenyon International West Africa, NOV, Energia and GeoEnergy Group – reinforces the event’s growing role as a platform for upstream innovation, offshore infrastructure expansion and operational transformation across Africa.

The participation of these companies comes at a critical time for Africa’s energy sector as producers push to increase output, strengthen infrastructure resilience and commercialize hydrocarbons more efficiently. AEW 2026, which takes place in Cape Town from October 12–16, will provide a platform for industry leaders to discuss offshore development, automation, localized engineering execution and investment opportunities shaping the next phase of African energy growth.

Kenyon International enters AEW 2026 following several major engineering milestones in Nigeria’s offshore sector. In May this year, the company completed the country’s first underwater FlexSteel reinforced thermoplastic pipe deployment at the Antan-Adanga OML 123 concession. The project restored critical production infrastructure while compressing standard offshore project timelines by approximately 80%.

The 8 km pipeline deployment connected the ADRP1 and ADNH offshore platforms and demonstrated a faster alternative to conventional subsea rehabilitation projects that often require years of execution. Victor Ekpenyong, Managing Director and CEO of Kenyon International, will be positioned to share insight into offshore asset recovery, indigenous engineering execution and subsea intervention strategies that are increasingly becoming essential across West Africa’s ageing offshore infrastructure landscape.

NOV joins AEW 2026 as a Gold Sponsor while continuing to expand its role in Africa’s drilling automation, digital optimization and offshore equipment markets. The company’s technology portfolio spans drilling systems, production technologies, FPSO equipment and AI-driven optimization platforms designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce non-productive time in complex offshore developments.

Recent projects in Egypt’s Western Desert highlighted NOV’s growing influence in Africa’s digital upstream transformation. Through deployment of its Drilling Beliefs & Analytics solution, operators achieved the field’s longest bit run while significantly lowering operational costs through remote monitoring capabilities. Johann Jansen van Rensburg, Director for sub-Saharan Africa, NOV, will contribute expertise on drilling efficiency, automation and offshore project optimization during AEW 2026 discussions.

Energia’s participation follows the appointment of Oladimeji Bashorun as Managing Director and CEO in April this year, marking a new strategic phase for the indigenous Nigerian operator. Under Bashorun’s leadership, Energia is prioritizing gas monetization, infrastructure-sharing alliances and digital asset management initiatives. The company continues to optimize production activities at the Ebendo field in OML 56 while advancing development opportunities tied to PPL 210 through the Enerog Limited special purpose vehicle. Bashorun’s participation at AEW 2026 is expected to focus on operational efficiency, regulatory execution and indigenous collaboration strategies supporting Nigeria’s evolving upstream landscape.

GeoEnergy Group’s participation further strengthens the technical and engineering agenda at AEW 2026 as operators across Africa pursue accelerated infrastructure deployment and production optimization. Maged Fahim, Director: Upstream Technical Center, GeoEnergy Group is expected to provide insight into upstream technologies, operational reliability and engineering solutions supporting Africa’s expanding offshore and onshore energy developments.

“AEW 2026 is bringing together the companies and technology leaders actively transforming Africa’s upstream sector through faster project execution, offshore innovation and operational efficiency. The participation of these esteemed service companies reflects the growing importance of indigenous engineering, digital optimization and strategic infrastructure investment in unlocking Africa’s full energy potential,” says NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman, African Energy Chamber.
