Bronze Partner BOSTenergies Brings Ghana’s Expanding Energy Logistics Network to AEW 2026

BOSTenergies – Ghana’s state-owned fuel logistics and strategic reserves company – will participate in African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 as a Silver Partner. As such, the company will bring its expanding energy infrastructure, regional logistics network and diversification strategy to the continent’s premier investment platform.

The partnership comes as BOSTenergies undergoes a major transformation from a traditional petroleum storage and transportation company into a diversified energy logistics and trading provider. The company officially adopted the BOSTenergies name in August 2025, broadening its mandate to incorporate alternative fuels, solar infrastructure, waste reduction and other solutions aligned with Ghana’s energy transition agenda.

Established in 1993, BOSTenergies remains a critical part of Ghana’s downstream energy infrastructure, controlling around 30% of the country’s fuel market while providing supply routes into landlocked West African markets. Its network supports regional trade with countries including Burkina Faso and Mali, positioning the company as an important logistics link between Ghana’s coastal energy infrastructure and the wider Sahelian market.

The company’s financial performance is also providing a stronger platform for infrastructure expansion. At its September 2026 Annual General Meeting, BOSTenergies reported revenue of GH¢5.81 billion for 2025, up from GH¢1.29 billion the previous year, while profit after tax increased to GH¢683.6 million. The company subsequently declared its first-ever dividend to the Government of Ghana, amounting to GH¢34.2 million.

BOSTenergies is simultaneously investing in infrastructure designed to strengthen domestic and regional energy security. Its northern Bolgatanga depot is undergoing rehabilitation and expansion, temporarily affecting export volumes to Burkina Faso and Mali as the company relies more heavily on road transportation from Tema. Once completed, the upgraded facility is expected to restore greater regional logistics capacity and improve connectivity with the Sahel.

The company is also pursuing strategic partnerships to expand Ghana’s refining and storage capabilities. An MoU with Tema Oil Refinery combines BOSTenergies’ product-trading and logistics capabilities with TOR’s engineering expertise, targeting improvements to tank maintenance, pipeline infrastructure and domestic refining operations. BOSTenergies has also established long-term cooperation with Burkina Faso’s National Hydrocarbons Company, SONABHY, to facilitate cross-border energy logistics.

Further investment is planned across the downstream value chain. BOSTenergies is developing a dedicated LPG terminal in Tema, targeted for completion in the fourth quarter of 2027, while plans for modern storage facilities across six strategic locations are expected to strengthen national distribution capacity. The company has identified Kumasi as a major node in this infrastructure rollout as it expands its storage footprint beyond existing facilities.
