Eni Powers Momentum at African Energy Week 2025 as Silver Partner
Eni has joined African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies as a Silver Partner, strengthening the conference’s line-up of major operators and investors committed to scaling energy development across the continent. The Italian major arrives at AEW amid a busy year across Africa, where it has pushed forward with sanctioned projects and new infrastructure that underline the commercial logic for continued investment in gas and integrated developments. AEW’s platform – which convenes ministers, financiers and operators to fast-track deals – provides a key venue for Eni to showcase these advances and highlight how they can be transformed into bankable opportunities.
Angola remains a centerpiece for Eni’s growth this year. Through Azule Energy, its joint venture with bp, the company has moved projects into production with the start-up of the Agogo Integrated West Hub in Block 15/06 and announced multi-year investment plans to drill and sustain output in the basin. These developments reaffirm Azule and Eni’s strategy to combine near-term production gains with longer-term basin growth – a vision that will be spotlighted at AEW as part of broader discussions on mobilizing capital for upstream activity in Angola.
Meanwhile, Eni is advancing a portfolio of projects in Libya aimed at boosting domestic gas production while supporting exports to Europe. Current activities include offshore drilling for the Structures A&E development, an ultra-deepwater well in Area C and seismic acquisition in the Sirte Basin – all part of the $26 billion Eni has committed to investing in North Africa over the next four years.
In East and Central Africa, Eni’s gas program is equally visible. In Mozambique, the Coral South FLNG remains a flagship asset – this year the project celebrated its 100th cargo of LNG – while Eni has advanced plans for a Coral Norte FLNG as partners and the Mozambican authorities move toward FID on a second floating unit. In the Republic of Congo, Eni has pressed ahead with the Congo LNG development in the Marine XII concession, including the recent sail-away of the Nguya FLNG unit – concrete signs that floating LNG and modular monetization are reshaping how gas is monetized in shallow and deepwater African basins.
“From Libya down to Mozambique, Eni is investing in projects that not only expand production and exports, but also create jobs and opportunities across the value chain. Their partnership with AEW 2025 underscores the importance of collaboration between governments, financiers and operators in driving sustainable energy growth on the continent,” states NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber.
AEW: Invest in African Energies is the platform of choice for project operators, financiers, technology providers and government, and has emerged as the official place to sign deals in African energy. Visit www.aecweek.com for more information about this exciting event.
