Kosmos Energy Executives Confirmed for AEW 2026 Amid LNG Expansion and Production Growth

Kosmos Energy will arrive at African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 with momentum across every front of its business – record production, accelerating LNG exports and a rapidly strengthening balance sheet – offering a clear example of how operators are reshaping their portfolios for long-term growth in Africa.

Chairman and CEO Andy Inglis will be joined by Senior Vice President of the Ghana Business Unit Joe Mensah, Senegal President and Country Manager Khady Dior Ndiaye, and Mauritania Vice President and Country Manager Ismail Sid Ahmed, reflecting the company’s integrated footprint as it strengthens its position as a leading deepwater and LNG player in West Africa.

Kosmos enters the event following a strong start to 2026, reporting production of approximately 74,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the first quarter, driven by steady output from Ghana’s Jubilee field and continued ramp-up at the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) LNG project.

At the same time, Kosmos has moved aggressively to strengthen its financial position. The company has raised its 2026 net debt reduction target to around 20%, targeting net debt below $2 billion, supported by a $185 million equity offering and a $350 million Nordic bond issuance aimed at refinancing higher-cost debt and extending maturities.

Portfolio optimization has also accelerated. In February 2026, Kosmos agreed to divest its stake in the Ceiba Field and Okume Complex in Equatorial Guinea in a deal valued at up to $220 million, sharpening its focus on higher-margin deepwater and LNG assets. Proceeds from the transaction are expected to further support deleveraging and liquidity through mid-2026.

Operationally, Ghana remains the backbone of Kosmos’ production base. The Jubilee field continues to deliver strong, stable output, with recent drilling success – including the J-74 well – reinforcing reservoir performance and supporting additional growth from new wells planned in 2026. License extensions for Jubilee and TEN through 2040 provide long-term visibility over the asset.

Meanwhile, the GTA LNG project offshore Mauritania and Senegal is emerging as a key pillar of Kosmos’ growth strategy. The floating LNG facility has reached, and at times exceeded, its nameplate capacity of 2.7 million tons per annum, with 32–36 cargoes expected in 2026. Ongoing optimization efforts are set to reduce operating costs by more than 50% year-on-year, strengthening the project’s competitiveness in global LNG markets.

“The participation of Kosmos Energy leadership at African Energy Week 2026 underscores the central role of disciplined capital allocation and deepwater LNG development in unlocking Africa’s next phase of upstream growth,” said NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber. “In today’s environment, it is operators who combine production growth with financial discipline that will attract capital and lead the continent’s next wave of development.”

AEW 2026 will convene operators, investors and governments at a critical moment for Africa’s energy sector. For Kosmos, the event comes as the company targets full-year production of 70,000–78,000 barrels per day, disciplined capital expenditure of approximately $350 million and continued expansion of LNG export capacity – signaling a strategy built on scale, efficiency and long-term value creation.
