NIES and Brevity Anderson Return as AEW 2026 Gold Partners to Strengthen African Energy Cooperation
The Nigerian International Energy Summit (NIES) and event organizer Brevity Anderson will return as Gold Partners at African Energy Week (AEW) 2026, taking place in Cape Town from October 12–16. Their continued partnership with AEW reinforces a shared commitment to strengthening African-led investment, regional cooperation and sustainable energy development.
Produced by international trade advisory and event management firm Brevity Anderson, NIES has evolved into a cornerstone of Africa’s energy calendar. The summit has played a central role in advancing Nigeria’s energy reforms, providing a venue where government leaders and industry executives engage on upstream licensing, gas commercialization, downstream industrialization and regional infrastructure development.
Nigeria remains one of Africa’s most attractive energy investment destinations. The country holds more than 36 billion barrels of proven oil reserves and over 200 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, positioning it as a cornerstone of African energy security. Recent policy reforms have sought to improve fiscal competitiveness, streamline project approvals and encourage greater private sector participation across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors.
At the same time, the government continues to prioritize large-scale infrastructure, including the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano pipeline, expanded domestic gas utilization and new investments in refining and petrochemicals to strengthen value addition within the country.
The 2026 edition of NIES reinforced many of these priorities under the theme “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future.” Discussions centered on expanding local refining capacity, strengthening regional energy infrastructure and accelerating implementation of projects capable of reducing Africa’s dependence on imported refined petroleum products. Government leaders also emphasized the need to maximize value from Africa’s hydrocarbon resources by promoting domestic processing, industrialization and regional supply chains while supporting the continent’s long-term energy transition objectives.
Beyond Nigeria, NIES has become an increasingly important platform for pan-African collaboration. The summit regularly brings together representatives from the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization, regional governments, development finance institutions and international investors to advance cross-border pipelines, gas markets, electricity interconnections and energy financing initiatives. These discussions complement AEW’s broader mission of promoting intra-African investment and creating stronger partnerships between governments, operators and financial institutions.
Brevity Anderson has also expanded NIES’ international footprint through strategic partnerships with global institutions and major energy events, strengthening connections between African projects and international capital markets. Its continued collaboration with AEW reflects the growing alignment between Africa’s premier investment platforms, each focused on transforming policy dialogue into commercially viable projects and long-term partnerships.
“NIES has established itself as one of Africa’s most influential platforms for energy investment and policy leadership. Through Brevity Anderson’s stewardship, the summit continues to connect governments, investors and industry leaders while advancing practical solutions that strengthen Africa’s energy future. We are delighted to welcome NIES and Brevity Anderson back as Gold Partners at AEW 2026 as we continue working together to unlock investment across the continent,” says NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman, African Energy Chamber.
As a Gold Partner at AEW 2026, NIES and Brevity Anderson will engage policymakers, investors, project developers and technology providers to advance investment across Africa’s energy value chain. Their participation further strengthens AEW’s role as the continent’s premier platform for dealmaking, strategic dialogue and cross-border collaboration, helping unlock the partnerships and capital needed to drive Africa’s next phase of energy growth.
