Russian Export Center to Lead Business Mission to AEW 2026 in Cape Town

Russian Export Center to Lead Business Mission to AEW 2026 in Cape Town

The Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in South Africa, together with the Russian Export Center, will organize an international business mission of Russian companies and industry associations to African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 in Cape Town from October 13–15. The mission will provide a platform for participating Russian companies to engage with African energy stakeholders and explore commercial opportunities across the continent.

The delegation will form part of AEW 2026, taking place October 12–16, bringing Russian businesses into discussions around Africa’s energy development, industrialization and infrastructure investment. The Trade Representation, which operates as the trade and economic branch of the Russian Embassy in South Africa, is facilitating participation alongside the Russian Export Center, Russia’s state-backed institution supporting exports and international business development.

Among the participating organizations is AD SIC <<TechEcoMash>>, an industrial association comprised of Russian manufacturers, engineering companies and developers of environmental and heavy industrial technologies. The association has approached the Trade Representation for assistance in establishing direct contact with the African Energy Chamber (AEC) and arranging meetings with its representatives during AEW 2026.

TechEcoMash focuses on ecological engineering technologies for heavy industry, including industrial gas cleaning and air purification systems, waste reduction technologies and equipment designed to improve environmental performance across sectors such as energy, cement and metallurgy. Its participation places industrial environmental technologies alongside the broader energy and infrastructure discussions taking place at AEW 2026.

The mission comes as African markets seek investment, technology and industrial partnerships to expand energy infrastructure and support economic development. Energy, mining, cement and other heavy industries also face growing requirements to improve efficiency and environmental performance, creating potential areas for technology cooperation.

AEW 2026 will bring governments, national oil companies, international energy companies, investors, financiers and service providers together in Cape Town to examine opportunities across oil and gas, gas-to-power, renewables, power infrastructure and industrial development. The Russian delegation will add another international business constituency to those discussions while creating opportunities for participating companies to establish commercial and institutional relationships with African counterparts.

“This business mission creates an important platform for Russian companies and African energy stakeholders to identify practical opportunities for cooperation, technology exchange and investment. Bringing these businesses together at AEW 2026 strengthens the connections needed to translate industrial capabilities into partnerships that support Africa’s energy and economic development,” says NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman, AEC.
