SKA CEO Mohammed Gabdo to Showcase Nigeria’s New Energy Trading Landscape at AEW 2026

Mohammed Gabdo, CEO of SKA Supply & Trading Limited and Director at SKA Energy Limited, will participate as a speaker at African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 in Cape Town from October 12–16. Gabdo brings nearly two decades of experience across petroleum trading, commercial operations and energy logistics, with SKA positioned across some of Nigeria’s fastest-changing fuel and gas markets.

SKA Supply & Trading has built its business around moving physical energy products from international suppliers into Nigeria’s fragmented downstream market. The company handles gasoline, gasoil, kerosene, LPG, LNG and CNG, while also supporting crude oil and condensate exports. Its distribution model combines international procurement with access to 22 strategic petroleum depots and a customer base exceeding 500 B2B clients.

That infrastructure gives SKA flexibility as Nigeria’s downstream market adjusts to deregulation and new domestic refining capacity. Rather than relying on a single storage or distribution point, the company uses multiple depot locations to reach customers across different markets. SKA is also developing its own retail footprint, with plans for five proprietary filling stations as it moves further into last-mile distribution.

Gas has become another important part of Gabdo’s strategy as SKA expands beyond conventional liquid fuels. The company supplies LPG while developing CNG and LNG distribution capabilities for industrial customers located beyond Nigeria’s established pipeline network. Its virtual-pipeline approach uses specialized transport infrastructure to connect gas producers and suppliers with factories, commercial users and other off-takers.

The shift reflects a wider change in Nigeria’s energy market, where gas is increasingly being positioned as an industrial fuel rather than simply an upstream export commodity. SKA is seeking opportunities across the gas logistics chain, including transportation, supply and distribution. That puts the company between producers with available molecules and customers needing reliable alternatives to conventional fuels.

Gabdo’s responsibilities also extend beyond downstream trading. Through SKA Energy, the group provides technical and project-management services covering engineering, asset operations and maintenance. Its activities include support for manufacturing plants, petrochemical facilities and power infrastructure, alongside marine and oilfield logistics. Procurement channels in London, Aberdeen, Dubai and Houston support equipment and supply requirements for upstream operators.

The group’s trading relationships also connect Nigerian customers with major international commodity companies. SKA identifies Glencore, Vitol, Trafigura, Mocoh and bp among its international supply counterparties, while working with Nigerian producers and state-linked entities. The combination of physical trading, logistics and technical services reflects the increasingly integrated role of indigenous companies within Nigeria’s energy supply chain.
