Sonils Joins AEW 2025 as Bronze Partner Amid Angola’s Oil and Gas Sector Expansion
Angolan logistics firm Sonangol Integrated Logistics Services (Sonils) has confirmed its participation as a bronze partner at the upcoming African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies conference, scheduled for September 29 to October 03, 2025 in Cape Town. The company’s involvement reflects its commitment to strengthening Africa’s logistics chain and comes as Angola accelerated oil and gas developments in pursuit of enhanced fuel trade.
Sonils plays a pivotal role in Angola’s oil and gas sector, supporting more than 60% of the country’s daily oil production through supply base management, cargo handling and engineering and logistics facilities management. As Angola works toward ambitious targets - including increasing gas production, sustaining oil output above one million barrels per day (bpd) and expanding refining capacity to over 445,000 bpd - Sonils will continue to be at the center of ongoing and upcoming projects.
To support projects, Sonils has been improving its service delivery in recent months, positioning itself as a strong partner for upstream operators. Notably, in April 2025, the company delivered a Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring system for Chevron’s Block 0, contributing to asset optimization. Sonils also contributed towards the development of the Eni-operated Agogo Integrated West Hub project in Block 15/06, which achieved first production in July 2025.
Amidst these developments, AEW: Invest in African Energies serves as a strong platform for Sonils to connect with global stakeholders to discuss growing investment and partnership opportunities within Angola’s logistics and energy sectors. As major projects - such as Chevron’s exploration campaigns in Blocks 49 and 50, the $1.4 billion Ammonia and Urea Fertilizer Plant in Soyo and TotalEnergies’ Cameia and Golfinho field developments – materialize in the short-to-medium term, Sonils is well positioned to drive the sustainable growth of Angola’s oil and gas value chain.
“A well-organized logistics industry, with companies such as Sonils simplifying the delivery of energy services, makes Angola an attractive investment destination for global energy firms. By strengthening partnerships with global firms, facilitating regional trade and petroleum distribution and investing in new downstream project, Sonils is consolidating its position as a major logistics player in Angola,” Tomás Gerbasio, VP of Commercial and Strategic Engagement, African Energy Chamber.
AEW: Invest in African Energies is the platform of choice for project operators, financiers, technology providers and government, and has emerged as the official place to sign deals in African energy. Visit www.aecweek.com for more information about this exciting event.
