Technip Energies – AEW 2026 Gold Sponsor – Expands Africa LNG Execution Footprint

Technip Energies has signed onto African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 as a Gold Sponsor, reinforcing its position as a leading engineering and technology partner shaping Africa’s LNG, offshore gas, and emerging low-carbon infrastructure landscape.

A major driver of this footprint is the company’s leadership in LNG infrastructure. In February 2026, Technip Energies secured a significant contract for the Coral Norte Floating LNG project offshore Mozambique, further strengthening its involvement in one of Africa’s most strategic deepwater gas developments. The award builds on earlier early-works activity and extends its participation in a second FLNG unit in the country, following the successful Coral Sul project – widely regarded as a landmark in FLNG deployment in Africa. The Coral Norte development, delivered in partnership with JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries for Mozambique Rovuma Venture, underscores the continued replication of proven FLNG design to accelerate execution and optimize production in the Rovuma Basin.

“Africa’s energy future will not be built by capital alone, but by execution at scale and engineering excellence,” said NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber. “Technip Energies is showing exactly what that looks like in practice – turning LNG, gas and low-carbon ambitions into real infrastructure, real projects and real value creation across the continent.”

Beyond Mozambique, West Africa remains a key area of activity. Technip Energies played a central role in delivering the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG project offshore Mauritania and Senegal, which achieved commercial operations in 2025. The project represents a major milestone in the monetization of frontier gas resources and has significantly expanded LNG export capacity in the Atlantic basin, reinforcing the region’s emergence as a new global gas hub. In Gabon, the company was also recently awarded two FEED contracts by SOGARA for the Port-Gentil refinery, covering both the rehabilitation and expansion of existing refining capacity.

In North Africa, Technip Energies is strengthening its engineering presence through emerging partnerships aimed at expanding integrated project delivery capabilities. In Egypt, the company is in advanced discussions to establish a joint venture with Enppi and Petrojet, designed to execute large-scale FEED and EPC projects while enhancing local content development and technology transfer. The proposed platform is expected to support complex energy infrastructure delivery and position Egypt as a regional hub for engineering and contracting services across Africa and the wider Middle East.

As AEW 2026 convenes global policymakers, investors, and operators, Technip Energies’ Gold Sponsorship underscores its long-term commitment to Africa’s energy transformation. Anchored in LNG infrastructure, offshore engineering excellence and an expanding low-carbon technology portfolio, the company’s engagement reflects a broader shift toward integrated energy systems – where gas development, industrial capacity and decarbonization technologies are increasingly advancing in parallel across the continent.
