U.S.-based engineering and project management company Westpaq International has been confirmed as a Silver Partner of African Energy Week (AEW) 2026, taking place in Cape Town from October 12–16. Joining the event as Africa enters a new phase of large-scale oil, gas and infrastructure development, the company will be positioned to showcase its expertise in EPCI, technical integrity assurance, asset management and workforce development.

Westpaq arrives at AEW 2026 following several strategic milestones that reinforce its position as a leading engineering partner across West Africa. In January 2026, the company, together with Subsurface Consultants & Associates, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Energy Industry Training Facility in Eko Atlantic City, Lagos. Designed to serve international energy companies, regulators and national institutions, the facility provides advanced technical training aimed at developing the next generation of African engineers, project managers and industry specialists at a time when skilled labor has become one of the industry’s most pressing challenges.

Alongside its investment in workforce development, Westpaq has expanded its technical integrity and engineering assurance services across the region. The signing of the intergovernmental agreement for the $25-billion Africa-Atlantic Gas Pipeline in July 2026 marked a major step toward developing one of Africa’s largest integrated gas transportation networks. Stretching approximately 6,900 km along the West African coast and expected to transport 30 billion m3 of natural gas annually, the project is set to drive substantial investment in pipeline construction, compression facilities, integrity management and supporting energy infrastructure.
