Dr. Amina Benkhadra is the Director General of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), Morocco’s state-owned entity responsible for the exploration and development of hydrocarbons and mineral resources. A seasoned leader in the energy and mining sectors, she has played a pivotal role in advancing Morocco’s strategy to diversify its energy mix, attract investment, and promote sustainable resource development. Before leading ONHYM, Dr. Benkhadra served as Morocco’s Minister of Energy, Mines, Water, and Environment, where she spearheaded key reforms and projects aimed at strengthening the country’s energy security and fostering renewable energy growth. Her leadership has been instrumental in positioning Morocco as a regional energy hub and an attractive destination for international partnerships in hydrocarbons, mining, and renewables. She holds engineering and doctoral degrees in mining and energy and is widely recognized for her expertise, policy vision, and commitment to sustainable development in the energy sector.
