Sama Bilbao y León has served as Director General of the World Nuclear Association since October 2020. The Association is the international organization representing the global nuclear industry. In her role, Sama leads a team of experts, analysts, and communicators dedicated to enabling the growth of the global nuclear sector by connecting stakeholders across the value chain, shaping and advocating industry positions in key international forums, providing authoritative information, and engaging with influential audiences, organizations, and media. In addition to her role at the World Nuclear Association, Sama serves as President of the World Nuclear University, which is committed to inspiring and developing the future leaders of the global nuclear industry.
