Edgar MBA OGNANE is the Managing Director of Assala Gabon, an oil & gas exploration and production company committed to operational excellence, responsibility, and long-term value creation. With over 22 years of experience in the energy industry, he has progressively advanced into management roles, enhancing production performance, and fostering sustainable growth. He is an expert in Gabonese onshore oil exploration, development and production, and has also benefited from international exposure to deepwater projects and developments. Before becoming Managing Director, Edgar served as the Director of New Developments and Exploration. His previous roles include Operations Director, Drilling Manager, and Wells Manager at Assala Gabon. Edgar MBA OGNANE spent his early career with Shell in Gabon and Nigeria, where he built up his experience in well delivery for development fields, exploration, appraisal drilling, and workovers. Throughout his career, he has maintained an unwavering commitment to Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards. As Managing Director, Edgar MBA OGNANE brings a wealth of knowledge in Wells and Operations, coupled with a strong commitment to the Assala Values and Spirit. He plays a pivotal role in promoting and embodying the safety culture of the company, prioritising the health and safety of Assala Gabon’s workforce while also emphasising operational excellence. Edgar MBA OGNANE holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath.
