Born in Luanda, Angola Edson started his career with ExxonMobil in Houston. Texas in 1999 as a Reservoir Engineer until 2015. He had various international assignments in Texas, Lousiana, Norway and Angola. Between 2006 and 2015 he assumed various leadership positions in Operations, Operations Technical, Planning and commercial. He joined the Sonangol board of directos between 2016 and 2017 as Chief Operation office responsible for - Upstream (ECP, SNL International, HSE), Midstream (Refining, Shipping, Luxervisa), ALNG e Downstream (Sonagas, Logistic e Distribution). In 2020 he became Somoil' s CEO and turned the company around operationally and financially with a growth in profit of more than 450% in 2 years. In 2021 he was confirmed as Chairman and the company change its vision from an oil & Gas company to now becoming the premier integrated energy company with a big focus on IsG. A committed and highly focused leader, Edson led the co brading from Somoil to ETU ENERGIAS which is the largest private Angolan energy company.
