Eng. Khalid Abu Bakr is Chairman of the Egyptian Gas & Energy Association and Vice President of the International Gas Union (2025–2028), set to become President (2028–2031). With nearly 40 years in the energy sector, he co-founded and led TAQA Arabia, one of Egypt’s largest energy companies, and has been instrumental in advancing natural gas, renewables, and regional energy trade. He also chairs the Italian-Egyptian Business Council, serves as Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, and is recognized internationally for his leadership in the global gas industry.
