Frederic Phipps President ConocoPhillips Equatorial Guinea Frederic Phipps was appointed President of ConocoPhillips Equatorial Guinea in July 2025, after joining Marathon Oil as Regional Vice President in June 2024. Before joining Marathon Oil and ConocoPhillips, Frederic spent most of his career at Shell, where he held a range of leadership roles including Managing Director of Shell’s upstream joint venture in Egypt, Vice President of Development for U.S. LNG, and General Manager in Gabon. He also served on the boards of several Shell-aƯiliated ventures. He holds a Master of Science degree, an Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Hautes Études Industrielles in France, and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands. He is married and has two sons.
