H.E. Romuald Wadagni is the Senior Minister in charge of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Benin, appointed in April 2016 and reappointed in May 2021. Born on June 20, 1976, in Lokossa, Benin, he pursued higher education in France, earning a master’s in finance from ESA Grenoble and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Before entering politics, Wadagni had a 17-year career at Deloitte, rising to Managing Director and Partner, and overseeing projects across Africa, Europe, and the US. In government, he has focused on financial consolidation, transparent public finance management, and economic resilience, helping Benin achieve strong growth even during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also serves as a World Bank Governor representing Benin.
