Chief Adebayo Adekola Adelabu (born 1970, Ibadan) was appointed Minister of Power in August 2023. A first-class Accounting graduate from Obafemi Awolowo University, he is a Fellow of ICAN and the Chartered Institute of Bankers, with executive training from top global institutions. He previously served as Deputy Governor, Operations at the Central Bank of Nigeria, and held senior roles at PwC and First Bank. As Minister, he is driving reforms under the Electricity Act 2023, expanding generation capacity, promoting renewable and nuclear options, protecting infrastructure, and forging global partnerships to strengthen Nigeria’s power sector.
