Samuel ("Sam") Olotu serves as the Chief Technical Officer and Director at Lekoil Nigeria Limited, bringing over 30 years of comprehensive experience in the oil and gas industry. His expertise encompasses subsurface exploration, facilities and well engineering, production optimization, and safety, health, environment, and security (SHES) management.​ Sam's distinguished career includes a 20-year tenure at Shell, where he held various pivotal roles, culminating as the Chief Geophysicist responsible for operations in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. During this period, he demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing major projects, ensuring excellent conceptualization and execution under challenging conditions and stringent timelines. His proficiency in project management and assurance tools has been instrumental in building and leading diverse teams to achieve outstanding performance across regions including Nigeria, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.​ Academically, Sam holds a Master of Science in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Ibadan (1989) and a Master of Business Administration from The Hague University. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (Nigeria), reflecting his commitment to continuous professional development and contribution to the industry.​ In his current role at Lekoil Nigeria Limited, Sam continues to drive technical excellence and innovation, significantly contributing to the company's strategic objectives and reinforcing its position as a leading indigenous player in the upstream oil and gas sector.
