Silvia Macri serves as Associate Director at S&P Global Commodity Insights, where she oversees renewable and power market analysis in Africa and the Middle East. She leads a team dedicated to power research and analysis, focusing on power market fundamentals, long-term outlooks, strategy and policy, as well as competitive analysis. With over 14 years of experience in the region's renewables research, Silvia examines trends in renewable power policy, business models, emerging strategies, project activities, and the competitive landscape. She has played a key role in consulting projects related to renewables and power, assisting governments with long-term energy strategies, planning, commercial due diligence, and market entry strategies. Silvia has extensive international experience in analysis and communication, having spent over five years in the Middle East prior to her tenure at IHS Markit. Her background includes work as an energy researcher and journalist for the Middle East Economic Survey (MEES) in Lebanon, as well as serving as a development advisor at UNDP in Cairo, Egypt. Silvia earned her BA in International Relations from Bologna University in Italy and a Master’s degree in Arab Gulf Studies from the University of Exeter in the UK. She is a Certified Expert in Climate and Renewable Energy Fice from Frankfurt School (2018). Currently based in Paris, Silvia is fluent in Italian, English, Spanish, and French, and has a basic proficiency in Arabic.
