Steve Naude is a Principal Analyst at S&P Global Energy, focused on offshore support vessel markets across West Africa, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. His work covers vessel activity, offshore project developments, regional supply and demand, and the commercial drivers shaping marine support requirements for upstream oil and gas projects. Steve brings a multidisciplinary maritime background combining seagoing experience, operational coordination, legal research, education and market analysis. He previously served as a Navigational Officer on oil and chemical tankers, worked in communications within the maritime search-and-rescue sector, and taught Nautical Science and Maritime Economics. He also holds a Master of Laws in Shipping Law, with interests spanning maritime regulation, offshore logistics, marine insurance, security and the energy transition
