Taelo Mojapelo is the CEO of bp Southern Africa (bpSA). She is an experienced business leader with a wealth of commercial and operational experience across Africa. Taelo holds an MBA from GIBS, a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Cambridge University and a BSc Honours in Chemical Technology from the University of Natal. In addition, she is a certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and a Certified Director with the Institute of Directors South Africa. She is also a Non-Executive Director of the South African Mint Company, the South African Bank Note Company and previously sat on the Wits Business School’s African Energy Leadership Centre advisory board. Amongst other accolades, she has received the much-coveted 2023 Standard Bank Top Women Business Leader of the year award. Taelo champions meaningful transformation and supports the diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda, driving executive female representation and opportunities for black and women-owned businesses. She also co-authored bpSA’s white paper titled ‘Creating responsible business within the context of diversity, equity, and inclusion‘. Taelo believes leading is a personal commitment to contribute meaningfully to the communities in which we live, and to foster the next generation of talent.
