African Service Providers, EPCs Join AEW 2025 to Discuss Innovative Energy Solutions
Local energy service providers and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms are playing an instrumental part in driving successful projects across Africa’s oil, gas and broader energy sectors at a time when the continent is seeking near-term energy production. With over 600 million people living without access to electricity and over 900 million living without access to clean cooking solutions, Africa requires innovative solutions to enhance energy efficiency while reducing emissions. With experience in the market and offering new technologies, local EPCs are delivering energy at scale across Africa.
A lineup of local energy service providers has joined this year’s African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies conference – taking place September 29 to October 3 in Cape Town. During the event, representatives from Aveon Offshore, Dorman Long Engineering and Energas West Africa will explore how ongoing investments and collaborations are shaping the continent’s energy landscape. From turnkey engineering and oilfield services to market know-how and consulting, Africa’s EPC firms are set to support accelerated growth across the market.
AEW: Invest in African Energies is the platform of choice for project operators, financiers, technology providers and government, and has emerged as the official place to sign deals in African energy. Visit www.aecweek.com for more information about this exciting event.
As an engineering and fabrication company active in Nigeria, Aveon Offshore has supported oil and gas projects across the country since its establishment in 1999. Over the years, the company has become one of the country’s largest fabricators, collaborating with partners such as Chevron, Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, Shell and many others. With an expansive fabrication yard, the company delivers critical components that meet local and international standards. The yard is situated in Port Harcourt and features a capacity of over 10,000 tons of steel annually, equipped to support both offshore and onshore operations. During AEW: Invest in African Energies 2025, Chijioke Igwe, Vice Chairman of Aveon Offshore, will share insight into how the company is driving Nigeria’s oil production goals – namely, to reach two million barrels per day in the coming years.
West Africa’s Dorman Long Engineering is an infrastructure and supply chain company that provides services to the oil, gas, power, telecommunications and manufacturing industries. The company’s state-of-the-art facilities are equipped with advanced technology, with services covering fabrication and ECP, asset management, procurement and logistics, among others. The company also strives to bolster human capital development in Africa, recently signing an agreement with the Nigerian Society of Engineers to collaborate in training and development initiatives. The agreement seeks to support capacity building for Nigerian engineers. At AEW: Invest in African Energies 2025, Dorman Long Engineering’s Managing Director & CEO Chris Ijeli and Director Babajide Agunbiade will speak.
Meanwhile, David Pappoe, CEO of Energas West Africa Limited, has also joined the event this September. As an engineering and energy services firm, Energas provides turnkey engineering and consulting solutions for project developers across the entire oil and gas value chain. Core areas include natural gas infrastructure solutions, engineering, consulting and more. These services not only support major operators active across the region but drive the respective production goals of many West African nations. At AEW: Invest in African Energies 2025, insights shared by Pappoe will pave the way for new collaborations between international operators and African service providers.

Companies such as Aveon Offshore, Dorman Long Engineering and Energas West Africa exemplify this and are poised to play a strategic role in Africa’s energy future,” states Tomás Gerbasio, VP of Commercial and Strategic Engagement, African Energy Chamber.
