Nigeria’s Aradel Joins Cape Town Energy Event as Bronze Partner Amid Market Expansion

Nigerian energy company Aradel has confirmed its participation as a Bronze Partner at African Energy Week 2025: Invest in African Energies, reinforcing its commitment to harnessing Nigeria’s 37 billion barrels of oil reserves and 210 trillion cubic feet of gas to expand electricity access for the country’s 87 million people without power.

Aradel is executing a portfolio of upstream, midstream and downstream projects that support Nigeria’s national targets of reaching 3 million barrels of liquids and 12 billion cubic feet of gas per day by 2030. The firm’s Ogbele modular refinery has operated at an expanded production capacity of 11,000 barrels per day (bpd) since 2020. On the upstream front, development is advancing at the Olo, Olo West, and Omerelu fields – assets acquired from TotalEnergies and Chevron – while production at Ogbele is expected to rise by 16,000 bpd of oil and 50 million standard cubic feet of gas per day in 2025.

The company is also diversifying its portfolio through strategic investments. In May 2025, Aradel committed $20 million for a 5% stake in Chappal Energies, increased its equity in Ever Oil & Gas Depot to 50%, and, alongside partners in Renaissance Africa Energy Company, finalized the acquisition of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria. These moves contributed to a 4.7% increase in total assets in Q1 2025, cementing Aradel’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading integrated energy players. Today, the group operates through subsidiaries including Aradel Energy, Aradel Gas Limited, Aradel Investments Limited, Aradel Refineries Limited, ND Western Limited and Renaissance Africa Energy Holdings.

“Aradel’s operations are advancing Nigeria’s national goals of leveraging hydrocarbons for industrialization, economic growth, export revenue generation and employment creation. As Africa enhances cooperation with global players to unlock its oil and gas potential, companies like Aradel stand out as reliable partners,” stated NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber.

At AEW 2025: Invest in African Energies, Aradel will showcase its integrated energy strategy, connect with global investors and explore new farm-in opportunities, reinforcing its role in driving Nigeria’s energy expansion and Africa’s broader transformation.

AEW: Invest in African Energies is the platform of choice for project operators, financiers, technology providers and government, and has emerged as the official place to sign deals in African energy. Visit www.aecweek.com for more information about this exciting event.
